If you are a connoisseur of fine dining Las Vegas is the place for you. You can literally eat in a different restaurant every night for 2 years. Las Vegas takes great pride in having delicious food at very reasonable prices. Casual:

Some of the very good casual dining places are located in Las Vegas.  Among them are Grand Lux Cafe, owned by Cheesecake Factory, in the Venetian Hotel, Cheesecake Factory in several Las Vegas locations; California Pizza Kitchen in The Mirage Hotel and in the Fashion Show Mall; Mimi's Cafes 1121 S Fort Apache Rd, Las Vegas, (702) 341-0365 6760 N Durango Dr, Las Vegas, (702) 645-3688,  596 N Stephanie St, Henderson (702) 458-0726; Claim Jumper Restaurants 601 N. Italian:

It has been said Americans can be very forgiving when it comes to Italian food.  We think there are more discriminating Italian tastes.  We HIGHLY recommend  Mama Jo's, 3655 S. Durango Drive., 869-8099,  is a very gay-friendly, trendy restaurant with a great reputation for fine food, and cute employees.  Take out is also available.

 

Caribbean:

Two awesome restaurants serve tasty Caribbean food in Las Vegas.  Kahunaville, in Treasure Island (T.I.) and Bahama Breeze on the northwest corner of Flamingo Road and Paradise Road are both highly recommended.  Both have great drinks, tasty food and outstanding atmosphere.

 

Steak and other aMERican food:

Hungry for a big western style American meal? You can't go wrong with Billy Bob's Steakhouse in Sam's Town, 5111 Boulder Highway. (702) 454-8031. Reservations are highly recommended. Don't forget to bring your appetite.

 

Mexican:

There are some very good Mexican restaurants in Vegas. We recommdend: Viva Mercado'sis located on at 6182 W. Flamingo at Jones Boulevard. (702) 871-8826, Lindo Michoacan 2655 E. Desert Inn Road  (702) 735-6828, and Bonito Michoacan,  3715 S. Decatur Boulevard (702) 257-6810

 

Buffet:

The Buffets at the Rio Suite Hotel, at Valley View and West Flamingo Road, are very popular. There are two actually: The Champaign Brunch and the Carnival World Buffet. The Beach Cafe at the Rio is great also. We also recommend Mainstreet Station's Buffet, a favorite among locals. For more discriminating tastes check out the recently improved Cravings Buffet at the Mirage Hotel.

 

Chinese:

P.F. Chang's China Bistro 4165 Paradise Road, south of Flamingo Road, (702) 792-2207, 3667 S. Las Vegas Boulevard, in the Aladdin Hotel,(702) 736-7114, and 1095 S. Rampart Boulevard, (702) 968-8885; Jasmine Thai Chinese Gourmet, 4135 S. Buffalo Drive, (702) 253-1918; China Grill in Mandalay Bay, not necessarily Chinese. Spectacular Asian-inspired cuisine is served in generous portions, dramatically presented and meant for sharing.

 

Brazilian:

If you are up for a very nice Brazilian meal, try Yolie's Brazilian Steak House at 3900 Paradise Road, about 1/4 mile south of Sands Avenue, (702) 794-0700. This is an all you can eat feast. Several waiters bring portions of your meal including various cuts of meats throughout the meal.

 

Sandwiches:

Capriottis offers delicious sub sandwiches in several locations.

Variety:

Many of the restaurants in the M.G.M. Grand Hotel are really good. Wolfgang Puck's has great food, as does it's sister restaurant, Spago in Caesar's Forum. It is also very gay friendly. Emerils serves one of the best steaks. Ask for the one cooked on a cedar plank. Don't forget the mouthwatering calamari. You won't go away hungry.

Another fine Southwestern dining experience is Z Téjas Grill at 2 locations: , 3824 Paradise Road, 732-1660, located on Paradise Road, South of Sands and north of Flamingo and 9560 W. Sahara Avenue, 638-0610.Bring your appetites along with you to this great place. The clientele is just as delicious as the entrees.

Dessert:

Ready for Dessert?  Try the best in Las Vegas:  Luv it frozen custard Find out what we locals have known and enjoyed since 1973.  Voted "Best of Las Vegas" three years by the Las Vegas Review Journal, Luv it is guaranteed to more than satisfy the palate of even the pickiest ice cream and frozen desert connoisseur.  505 E. Oakey Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89104 (702)384-6452 located just north of the stratosphere on Oakey, just east of Las Vegas Blvd., next to the AM/PM station.
